Title : Flood

Floods are events that occur when excessive water flows submerge land. In the sense of "flowing water", this word can also mean the entry of the tides. Flooding is caused by the volume of water in a body of water such as a river or lake that overflows or overflows from a dam so that water comes out of the river.

In addition to a number of places that are used by humans such as villages, cities, and other settlements, flooding can also occur in rivers, when the flow exceeds the capacity of waterways, especially in river bends. Floods often result in damage to houses and shops built on natural river floodplains. Although flood damage can be avoided by moving away from rivers and other bodies of water, people live and work near the water to earn a living and take advantage of the low costs and smooth travel and trade near the water.

In many countries around the world, flood-prone rivers are carefully controlled. Defenses such as dams, reservoirs and weirs are used to prevent rivers from overflowing, emergency equipment such as sandbags or portable float tubes are used. Coastal flooding has been controlled in Europe and America through coastal defences, such as seawalls, coastal returns and barrier islands.
